When I first inspect a newly finished piece, I frequently feel compelled to name it. In some instances, as soon as I hold it in my hands, the perfect name jumps into my head. On other occasions, the right name comes a few days later.
To be fair, this strange habit comes from a man who has always named the cars he drives, along with many other inanimate objects I've owned over the years—houses, bikes, and even backyard furniture (nuts, I know).
That said, some of my Clay Works remain nameless. I cannot force the process. Being a big Clint Eastwood fan, I simply think of those pieces as "The Clays with No Name."
Artistically, I am pleased with every piece I post on my website. That said, some of my creations exceed my own expectations. On those happy occasions, I am compelled to give these standout "Works-of-Clay" a special designation; My “Opus Series”, representing the best-of-the-best offered by Back Alley Studio.
